Masseto

Masseto, the jewel of the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia estate, is a magnificent wine from the Bolgheri region made from 100% Merlot. The various clays that compose the subsoil here lend the wine concentration, finesse and complexity. Formerly owned by Ludovico Antinori, the winery was acquired by Robert Mondavi and the Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Group in 1999. Frescobaldi then became sole owner of Tenuta dell'Ornellaia in April 2005. The meticulous attention currently being paid to the vines and to winemaking at Masseto bodes well for future vintages.
